Robert has over 20 years’ experience of outsourcing and managed services transactions, and also mergers and acquisitions and compliance issues. He was general counsel of two leading BPO service providers and managed in-house as well as external counsel.
Robert has acted on a wide range of commercial and corporate transactions, with an emphasis on structuring, negotiating and managing long-term customer-supplier relationships. He has considerable experience of outsourcing and facilities management deals, having previously been general counsel of Johnson Controls and CBRE. He led on multi-jurisdictional transactions, particularly in relation to property and estate management and logistics.
Robert’s corporate work includes acting as lead lawyer on acquisitions and disposals, as well as company secretarial and compliance matters. He has established risk management and compliance functions at various companies and restructured in-house legal functions to serve the business more effectively.
Robert is admitted in England and Wales and is a law graduate of Cambridge University and his private practice experience includes 10 years at Bird & Bird (where he worked with Rory Graham).
Robert’s other interests include cooking, having taken a year out of work to train as a chef.
